Ana Lynch
My name is Ana and I am originally from Panajachel, Guatemala. My town borders the most beautiful lake in the world! Lake Atitlan has three beautiful inactive volcanoes and twelve small towns around it. Guatemala has an amazing culture based on many Mayan Traditions.
I started to craft at a young age. There are many artisans and craftsmen in my town that have shown me the basics of crafting. I am really excited to share my traditions with others, as each of my crafts tell a story. It is part of the culture, and I find it fascinating not only to tell the story but to actually show my students a visualization.
In terms of materials, I like to work with Mayan textiles, as it makes the work more authentic.
When I am not crafting, my favorite thing to do in town is to go down by the lake around five in the afternoon to watch the sun go down behind the three volcanoes.
