Gwendolene Adu-Tutu

I am Gwendolene Adu-Tutu from Ghana, West Africa.  I am from the Ashanti tribe.  I love learning about different cultures and languages, and teaching about my own.  I love to cook and eat good food, so I am thrilled to be sharing this part of my culture with Learners from across the world!  I love living in Ghana, because it is one of the top three most peaceful and friendly countries to live in Africa.  I love making new friends and being creative.  I also love learning new things, and I am currently pursuing my second degree and my masters degree simultaneously.

I started crafting as far back as when I was 5 years old.  I have always loved working with my hands more than anything.  I would pick up whatever skill I could along the way and enjoy every moment of it.  Growing up, the subjects in school that I would ace without much studying were always the creative subjects.

Food is one of the main bases of every culture.  The dish I will be teaching you to make is from the Akan tribe of Ghana. In Ghana, we have 4 major tribes and 100 sun tribes. Each tribe has several meals specific to the tribe only even though it is eaten all over Ghana

I love cooking and I find that I am very good at it.  Even better than cooking is eating delicious and healthy food that you have made!  In Africa, we have many wonderful herbs and spices, such as hwentia, pepre, sru wesa, and fem wesa.  I find they make all the difference in the meal. I am so excited to share this part of my culture with you!
